Asaya Bookkeeping · Catch-Up

Your Books Were Being Kept Up.
Then Something Happened.

Maybe business got busy.

Maybe your bookkeeper left.

Maybe the person on your team who handled the books moved on.

Maybe you planned to take over the bookkeeping yourself, but other things kept getting in the way.

Whatever happened, the result is the same:

Your business kept moving. Your books didn’t.

Now you’re months behind. And something has made getting caught up important.

Maybe your tax preparer is waiting for your books. Maybe you filed an extension and still need to finish your return. Maybe you need current financial statements. Or maybe you’re simply ready to get this off your plate.

If your books were being kept up before the backlog started, I may be able to help.

I’ll get your accounting caught up. Then I’ll help you put a clear process in place for whoever handles the books next.

A Defined Backlog

This Is Built for a Defined Backlog.

There’s a difference.

Some businesses have older issues that fall outside a straightforward catch-up scope.

This service is for a different situation:

“My books were being kept up. Then we fell behind.”

Maybe you’re three months behind. Maybe six. Maybe nine.

We’ll figure out where the completed books stop and where the backlog begins. Then we’ll agree on what needs to be completed.

That’s the period I catch up. Simple.

Full-Cycle Catch-Up

I Don’t Just Clear Your Bank Feed.

Getting caught up means more than categorizing a pile of transactions. I’m providing full-cycle catch-up accounting for the period we agree on.

Depending on your business, that can include:

Recording and Categorizing Transactions

Matching Transactions

Reconciling Accounts

Completing Month-End Work

Recording Adjustments from Schedules You Provide

Bringing Your Financial Reports Current

The exact work depends on your business. But the goal is simple:

Get the accounting current through the date we agree on.

After Catch-Up

Then We Answer One More Question

Once you’re caught up: Who is going to keep the books up to date?

You

Maybe it’s you.

An Employee

Maybe it’s an employee.

Another Bookkeeper

Maybe you’ll hire another bookkeeper.

Either way, I don’t want all the knowledge about your books stuck in one person’s head. That’s why catching up is only the first part of my service.

The Core Mechanism

Catch Up → Systemize → Handoff

Step 01

Catch Up

First, we get rid of the backlog. I complete the accounting work we agreed on and bring your books current through the agreed date.

You can stop staring at months of unfinished bookkeeping and move forward with whatever made getting caught up important in the first place.

Step 02

Systemize

While catching up your books, I’ll learn how money moves through your business and how your QuickBooks file works. Then we’ll look for ways to make the ongoing process easier.

  • QuickBooks rules
  • Recurring workflows
  • Automation
  • AI-assisted QuickBooks tools
  • Better review steps

What makes sense will depend on your business. I’m not promising that AI will do your bookkeeping for you, and I’m not going to automate something just because we can. We’ll use automation where it actually helps.

Step 03

Handoff

Then I’ll document the process. You’ll receive a Customized Bookkeeping Playbook — the instruction manual for maintaining your books.

So if you do the bookkeeping yourself, you have a process to follow. If an employee does it, you have something to train them with. If your bookkeeper leaves, the whole process doesn’t leave with them. And if you hire someone new, you have something to hand them.

The Differentiator

Your Customized Bookkeeping Playbook

Then I’ll document the process. You’ll receive a Customized Bookkeeping Playbook — the instruction manual for maintaining your books.

Playbook Page Showcase

Actual Playbook screenshots will be inserted here once provided.

Depending on your business, it may document:

  • What needs to be done each week
  • What needs to be done each month
  • How accounts are reconciled
  • Common transactions and how they’re handled
  • QuickBooks rules and workflows
  • What can be automated
  • What still needs human review
  • Month-end tasks
  • Which schedules need to be provided
  • When to ask a bookkeeper, accountant, or tax professional for help
Operating Philosophy
01

Human Review

Accounting judgment preserved.

04

Escalation

Clear rules for what gets raised.

Handoff Support

You’ll Also Have Me for the Next 3 Months

Learning a process is one thing. Actually using it is another.

Up to 2 hours / month

For 3 months

That’s why your project includes up to 2 hours of consultation each month for 3 months.

Use that time to ask questions as you start maintaining the books again. Maybe you’re unsure how to handle something. Maybe a QuickBooks rule isn’t working the way you expected. Maybe part of the process needs to change.

You can use up to two hours each month. Unused time expires at the end of that month and doesn’t roll over.

An Honest Question

Why Not Just Hire a Cheaper Bookkeeper?

You can.

And if your only goal is, “I need somebody to enter this stuff as cheaply as possible,” I’m probably not the right person.

There are plenty of bookkeepers who can help you process a backlog. I’m offering something more: catch-up work plus a clear QuickBooks process for maintaining the books afterward.

An Honest Question

Couldn’t I Just Catch Up the Books Myself?

Probably. Especially if you were already doing the bookkeeping before you fell behind.

The question isn’t whether you can do it. It’s whether you want to spend the time doing it now.

If you’ve been meaning to catch up for weeks or months and the backlog is still there, I can help you get current. Then we’ll put a process in place for what happens next.

I Stand Behind My Work

You’re trusting me with your accounting. I should be willing to stand behind it.

$250Catch-Up Accuracy Guarantee

If an in-scope bookkeeping error caused by my catch-up work is identified under the guarantee terms:

  • I’ll fix it at no extra charge.
  • And I’ll refund you $250.

The guarantee applies to my work. It doesn’t cover bookkeeping completed before I started, incorrect information provided to me, or guarantee a specific tax result. Full terms will be provided in writing before work begins.

Next Step

First, Let’s Find Out If We’re a Fit

The first step is a short Catch-Up Assessment covering:

  • How far behind you are
  • Where the completed books stop
  • How many accounts you have
  • Rough transaction volume
  • Payroll, loans, A/R, A/P, inventory and sales tax
  • Why you need to get caught up now
  • When you need the work completed

Then we’ll determine whether your situation looks like the type of catch-up project I handle.

“We’ll discuss the recommended catch-up work and price during your assessment call.”

What Happens Next

What Happens After the Assessment?

1

Complete the assessment

Tell me about your books and the backlog.

2

Talk with me

If it looks like a fit, we’ll have a short call.

3

Scope the work

During the Zoom call, I’ll define the period and understand how the business operates. If I have enough information, I can recommend the scope and price on the same call.

4

Decide

You’ll see the work, price, responsibilities and terms before deciding whether to hire me.

Honest Fit

Is This a Good Fit?

This service may be a good fit if:

Likely a Good Fit

  • Your books were being maintained before the backlog began.
  • You use QuickBooks Online.
  • You have a defined period that needs to be caught up.
  • You have a reason to get current now.
  • You care about getting the accounting completed properly.
  • You want a clear process for maintaining the books afterward.

Likely Not a Fit

  • The work falls outside a defined catch-up period.
  • You’re simply looking for the lowest-cost person available.
The Bottom Line

Get Current. Then Stay Organized.

Something happened and the books fell behind. We don’t need to overcomplicate it.

Let’s get them caught up.

And once they’re current, let’s make sure there’s a clear process for whoever handles them next.

You’ll leave with:

  • Caught-up accounting for the agreed period.
  • A better-organized QuickBooks process where appropriate.
  • Your customized Bookkeeping Playbook.
  • Up to 2 hours of consultation per month for 3 months.
  • The $250 Catch-Up Accuracy Guarantee.

P.S. Completing the assessment doesn’t commit you to hiring me. It simply gives me enough information to determine whether your books appear to fit the catch-up service.
